Idea: Combination of a natural form and traditional methods of construction with a tourist function and a modern building technology. Place: in parallel with the run-way of Solovetsky airport. Construction: a bridge support - traditional wooden structure is elevated to the height of the walls of the Solovetsky Kremlin. The upper level of the bridge is 'covered' with titanium capsules, imitating the traditional local pavement made of natural boulders*. The capsules size varies from 24 to 2400 m3. Bridge construction is designed with the perspective of the mounting additional functional volumes. *Boulder - large stone in a stream: a detached and rounded or much-worn mass of rock from 8 or 10 inches or more feet in diameter typically carried some distance from the parent rock by natural forces and worn by a stream, ocean waves, or glacier or by weathering in situ.
