Definition: «Krasnaya Gorka is known throughout the vastly realms of Russia, beign in its most general sense a sign or portent of Spring, that lovely time when the crimson sun shineth and crimson Easter doth take place. Crimson spring ,in this sense, reader, being most rosy and beauteous spring ,joyous spring ,refreshed by soothing and pleasant winds , when flowing water throws off its icy shackles. Krasnaya Gorka in the tongue of the land of Rus’ is ‘crimson hill’ in our own fair tongue, and doubtless, dear reader, it belongs also to that time of the year when the good folk of the land spend their hours in feast and festival for Easter-Tide, when the rivers run so high with the snowy waters that the plain lands are quite covered and the good people carouse on the hills and highlands. In some localities Krasnaya Gorka is the name of the celebrations of Easter-Tide and in others it is given to the Festival of St. George, but throughout the realm it is considered to be the days of spring being most favorable for marriage.»

Structure: two spatial wedges rest on each other, forming a 240metre span, supported by two triangle 52 m masts. The upper part of each of the constructions serves as a staircase to the summit with 136 steps (16 x 150 cm)and an area of 3750 sq. m. The lower part is formed of two trapezoid platforms which themselves form an arch in seven steps over the river. The trapezoidal spaces are linked continuously together and are linked with the main footbridge staircase by ordinary steps. The bridge has a height of 13,6 m above the river.

Material: metal, glass.

Function: the bridge is named after the area in which it is located, Krasnaya Presnya, and is dedicated to the Russian festival of Krasnaya Gorka. It serves for various forms of entertainment, merry-making, leisure, games, fairs, feasts, etc.The open air staircase can be used for theatrical presentations, carnivals, sport events, open air cafes and picnics. The space underneath the staircase in the closed part of the bridge can be rented out for family and corporate entertainment, parties and banquets, wedding (a wedding ritual in which bride and groom met in the center of the bridge on the one step belonging to both flights could be arranged...). In supporting parts of the bridge supermarkets, warehouses and carparcs could be situated. The total area of the open bridge is 7956 sq. m, and the closed space is 5120 sq. m.

Orientation: the upper part of the bridge runs North-South and the lower parts are opened to the East (sunrise) and the West (sunset).
