Above all, the feeling of sadness at his loss should enter into the idea for the mausoleum of the Great Leader. Expression of this is afforded by the lower part of the monument, constructed in the form of a pressed down gravestone, naturally, of greatly enlarged dimensions in accordance to the great significance of the deceased.
But the monument should not only express sadness, it should also appeal for the continuation of the leader’s work, for the fight for the bright future of mankind, for the attaining of Communism. The call to arms should be fully represented by the complete figure of V.I. Lenin, crowning the mausoleum.
